New WWE Tag Team Confirmed

It was confirmed during tonight’s August 7 episode of SmackDown that a new WWE tag team will be debuting soon.

On last week’s SmackDown, the MFTs – Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga – made headlines due to return of their father Haku, who directed them in an attack of AAA World Tag Team Champions the War Raiders, and WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest & R-Truth.

Months ago, when they were still led by Solo Sikoa, the MFTs took out Shinsuke Nakamura which led to him being off television for a while.

Tonight on SmackDown, a video aired featuring a promo from Nakamura, stating that he’s ready to make his return for revenge on the MFTs, and this time, he isn’t coming alone.

Nakamura specifically referred to “he and I,” which suggests he’ll be bringing in a new tag team partner.

He said:

“You say you need to remember who you are. You’re wrong. You need to remember who I am. The King of Strong Style, the Artist Known As Shinsuke Nakamura.

“I’m back, and this time I will not be alone. I’m starting a war, and I’m no longer a one-man army. He and I make it clear who are warriors, and who are just pawns.

“Here is your warning, you are running out of time”

Who Will Shinsuke Nakamura’s Tag Team Partner Be?

Shinsuke Nakamura has no real history of tag team partners in WWE, so the spot seems pretty open.

One option would be Naraku, formerly known as EVIL in NJPW, who signed with WWE earlier this year.

Naraku has been on NXT TV for the past few months, but was unsuccessful in a couple of attempts to win the NXT Championship from Tony D’Angelo.

If his stay in NXT was only intended to be a short one, he could be a candidate to be brought in alongside Nakamura.

A similar possibility is another former NJPW star in Hiromu Takahashi. Takahashi signed with WWE around the same time as Naraku, but has not debuted yet.

If the partner is someone with some history with The MFTs, it could be the recently turned babyface Solo Sikoa off the back of him teaming with LA Knight and Royce Keys against The Bloodline.
