With NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV on the horizon in five days time, the yellow brand made their final pit stop on the road to New York City in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
In recent weeks, NXT live events have been headlined either by Six-Man Tag Team Matches, Mixed-Tag Team Matches, or the Undisputed Era. This time around, the golden league tried something a little different mixed with the familiar for massive results.
The headline act in Cocoa Beach saw Kairi Sane, Nikki Cross, and Jessie Elaban defeat Shayna Baszler, Lacey Evans, and Bianca Belair – the future of WWE’s women’s division all in one ring. It also served as a nice prelude to Saturday with the hot exchanges between Sane and the NXT Women’s Champion. It’s worth nothing that this could be the final NXT live event for Nikki Cross. The Scot is expected to make her main roster debut shortly after SummerSlam.
In results from the rest of the August 11 show:
- Raul Mendoza again shocked Kona Reeves
- Jason vs. Mohamed Fahim never got going after Lars Sullivan invaded the ring and destroyed both men
- Babatunde Aiyegbusi knocked off Marcel Barthel
- The Coffey Brothers scored a victory over Big Boa and Mars Wang
- Lars Sullivan broke Dan Matha
- The Undisputed Era whitewashed the Mighty
- The Velveteen Dream styled over Brennan Williams
