NXT Star Deletes Twitter Following Sasha Banks Controversy

NXT star Amari Miller caused some controversy on social media yesterday with some comments about Sasha Banks, with the backlash actually leading to her deleting her profile.

Miller had tweeted:

Shoutout to Ember Moon being the first and only African American @WWENXT Womens Champion..

NXT goal! Let’s make it 2!!

This caused a stir as fans reminded Miller than Sasha Banks was also NXT Women’s Champion, but Miller responded to that by writing:

No thanks:) Sasha is German and black I said African American:)

And then followed up again with:

For everyone on Twitter Fully Black NXT champion(Ember Moon)

Im aware what I posted

Sasha is great and legendary for sure let’s never forget!

The tweets sparked a lot of controversy on social media, and a few other NXT talents even reacted themselves, including Edris Enofe and Jacy Jayne.

Miller’s Twitter profile remains inactive as of this writing, with the message: “This account doesn’t exist”.

CM Punk Returns To AEW

After being off TV with a broken foot since June 1, AEW World Champion CM Punk made his big return to Dynamite on last night’s special ‘Quake By The Lake’ show.

The main event saw Jon Moxley retain the Interim AEW World Championship over Chris Jericho, after which the Jericho Appreciation Society Members attacked Moxley.

Mox got some backup in the form of the Blackpool Combat Club, who were then followed by CM Punk.

Even though Punk helped fight off the JAS, he and Moxley had a confrontation that seemed to confirm the assumption that there will be a title unification match between them at All Out on September 4.

Will Ospreay and Aussie Open of United Empire heading to the ring

Will Ospreay and Aussie Open of United Empire appeared on AEW TV numerous times ahead of Forbidden Door

Elsewhere on Dynamite, the bracket for the first ever AEW Trios Championship tournament was revealed. The first round matches are: Death Triangle vs Will Ospreay & Aussie Open; Andrade El Idolo, Dragon Lee & Rush vs Young Bucks & ???; House of Black vs Dark Order; and the Trustbusters vs Best Friends.

Many had expected Adam Page to be the Bucks’ partner, but Page rejected their offer last night, so maybe that potentially opens the door for a Kenny Omega return.

A couple of interesting faces were announced for the Rampage card this coming Friday – the lineup will see Parker Boudreaux make his AEW TV debut against Sonny Kiss; Boudreaux’s Trustbusters teammate Ari Daivari vs Orange Cassidy; Erick Redbeard (Rowan) + Danhausen vs Austin & Colten Gunn; and Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti (listed as Tay Melo) defending the AAA Mixed Tag Title against Dante Martin & Skye Blue.

It was also announced that Kris Statlander is out with an injury, so the next challenger for Jade Cargill’s TBS Championship will be Toni Storm instead.

On Busted Open Radio, Khan also put to bed the rumor fuelled by Dustin Rhodes that AEW could be planning to hold two-night pay-per-views – “I was like, why would Dustin say that? I love Dustin so much, but I was surprised that he said it because it’s not something we really internally seriously discussed”.

Mark Henry revealed he has nerve damage in his back which is why he no longer wrestles and hasn’t wrestled in AEW.

Kevin Nash said on the latest Kliq This podcast he will never wrestle again, even if he gets offered “Saudi money”.
