It is now looking inevitable that a pair of former NXT Tag Team Champions are headed for the WWE main roster.
Yesterday (June 27), both last night’s and next week’s episodes of NXT were taped at the WWE Performance Center, likely so talent and staff get the Fourth of July off work next week instead of working a live show.
There was some big news coming out of the taping for next week, so if you want to avoid any spoilers, now’s your chance to stop reading.
On last night’s show, it was announced that next week there’ll be a “Losers Leave NXT” tag team match between the Dyad and the Creed Brothers.
Most would have assumed this would be WWE’s way to write the Dyad off TV ahead of their contracts expiring in a couple of months after they requested their release earlier this year, and when their request wasn’t granted, they tweeted that they’d be leaving WWE and would be free agents in mid-October.
But… not so fast.
At last night’s taping for next week’s show, according to PWInsider, the Dyad actually scored the win over the Creed Brothers, meaning it’ll be Julius and Brutus Creed leaving NXT.
Unless something completely unforeseen and unexpected has happened, they won’t be leaving WWE any time soon, which surely means they’ll be leaving NXT to head to Raw or SmackDown instead.
The spoiler notes from PWInsider mentioned that a masked man in a red hoodie came out of the crowd and headbutted Julius which is what led to the Dyad winning.
Other spoilers for the show are as follows:
Blair Davenport def. Roxanne Perez
Mustafa Ali def. Tyler Bate
Kelani Jordan w/Dana Brooke def. Tatum Paxley; Cora Jade came out and cut a promo on Jordan and Brooke after the match
Lyra Valkyria def. Jacy Jayne; Jayne attacked Valkyria after the match
Javier Bernal was scheduled for a match with Von Wagner, but Wagner attacked him pre-match and put him through the announce table even though Mr Stone tried to stop him
The aforementioned match with Dyad beating the Creed Brothers meaning the Creed Brothers are leaving NXT
Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov brawl
Eddy Thorpe w/Gable Steveson def. Damon Kemp in the ‘Raw Underground’ match; after the match, Steveson laid out a few wrestlers who were at ringside and celebrated with Thorpe
