A new report has revealed that a reportedly long signed WWE tag team may be finally planned to make their television return ‘soon’.
Could it finally be happening? A long rumored returning pair to WWE could actually be headed to television ‘soon’ according to a new report.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE fans may finally see the return of the Authors of Pain (AOP) Akam and Rezar in WWE.
While the pair have been reportedly re-signed to the company for “at least a year and a half,” they have yet to make their on-screen return.
Akam and Rezar first teamed up in June 2016, going on to become both NXT Tag Team Champions and WWE Raw Tag Team Champions during their time in the company.
AOP was released in September 2020 from WWE.
According to the report, the pair are expected to make their return ‘soon’ and are anticipated to be on the SmackDown brand.
Another detail: it sounds as though they are planned to appear again alongside another familiar face: Paul Ellering who appeared alongside the duo during their NXT run.
