An update has emerged on which promotions are interested in Matt Riddle following his WWE release.
Riddle was one of a number of WWE names let go by WWE during this month’s talent cuts.
It had previously been reported that ‘at least one’ MMA promotion that is interested in bringing in the ex-WWE star.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both PFL and Bare Knuckle Fighting are interested in bringing Riddle in following his WWE release.
Noting that a number of pro-wrestling companies are also interested in booking Riddle, Meltzer wrote:
Since the word last week of his being let go, there has been interest by a number of companies in both pro wrestling and MMA.
Most pro wrestling companies of any size immediately expressed interest, and in MMA, both PFL and Bare Knuckle Fighting had expressed interest due to his name value from WWE and the fact he was a decent MMA fighter.
Riddle notably competed on the seventh season of UFC The Ultimate Fighter in 2008, before going on a brief UFC winning streak.
He also competed in MMA promotions Bellator and Titan FC before making the transition to pro-wrestling in 2015.
