WWE is pushing the Edge vs. Randy Orton match at Backlash next month as the “greatest wrestling match ever”. While Orton and Edge are undeniably future Hall of Famers who will go down as two of the best characters in WWE history, their match at the upcoming pay-per-view will undoubtedly not be the greatest match, from an in-ring perspective, of all time.
Many believe that WWE is doing this as a way to get back at Dave Meltzer, who said that the duo’s clash at WrestleMania was one of the worst ‘Mania matches of all time. However, others believe that the company has a creative way to “cheat” fans out of the match.
Taking to Instagram, Randy Orton has said that the greatest match ever is a massive “rib”. Accompanied by a picture of his newly acquired plane, Orton posted the hashtags “#greatest #wrestling #match #ever #whatarib #hatebutidontblameyou”

It remains to be seen what WWE’s plans are for Edge and Orton for the show, but how do you think they should book the match? Let us know on Twitter.
