When Triple H was named head of WWE creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement, fans were excited to see a whole host of different wrestlers getting pushed, but there was also a fear that some fan favourites might not get pushed under new management.
Someone who reportedly shouldn’t be worried however is Theory, who appears to be a favourite of Triple H, just as he was a favourite of Vince McMahon.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“Dolph Ziggler is kind of the odd man out because they were gonna run with Ziggler and Theory at all the (house) shows to give Theory… the idea is to give Theory opponents that will give him experience, because Theory is the one that they really want to groom, and it appears Levesque hasn’t done anything to change that. They like the guy – good size, good look, very good athlete, just needs ring work.”

The reason Meltzer described Ziggler at the odd one out is that following Johnny Gargano’s return to WWE, it appears the plan is for Gargano to feud with Theory, and therefore Dolph will be left without an opponent.
In recent weeks, WWE has been using Dolph Ziggler mainly to get over talent in competitive matches, with his most recent match being a loss to Judgment Day leader Finn Balor on last night’s (August 22) Raw.
