WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta has reacted to his brother Rey Fenix winning his first championship under the company banner.
Fenix challenged for Laredo Kid’s AAA World Cruiserweight Championship in the opening match of the May 30 Noche De Los Grandes event.
With Fenix ultimately victorious, the luchador won his first championship under the WWE banner, and his brother Penta has now commented on the title change.
Penta took to his Instagram story to comment on his Fenix’s championship victory, writing:

This title win comes shortly after Rey Fenix recently stating that while he loved his brother, he wanted his own title opportunities.
Despite there only being a few months between the two stars debuts – with Penta first wrestling for WWE on the January 6, 2025 Raw episode and Rey Fenix making his in-ring debut on the April 4, 2025 SmackDown show – WWE has presented Penta as the much bigger star.
Penta has been prominently featured on WWE Raw since his January debut and competed at top premium live events such as WrestleMania 41 and Money in the Bank ahead of winning the Intercontinental Championship in March.
While Fenix was also in action at WrestleMania 41, he was a last-minute replacement for Rey Mysterio against the Original El Grande Americano, indicating that WWE didn’t originally plan to feature him on the show.
Fenix hasn’t featured on a main roster WWE PLE since then, but will likely be featured more on AAA following his championship victory.
While Penta and Fenix are now both champions, it could be argued that Penta is still presented as being on a different level to Fenix, with the latter star still having yet to hold a main roster title.
Hopefully Fenix’s title win is the start of a big push for the star on the AAA brand, so he’s able to re-establish himself as one of the top luchadores in the world.
