Rey Mysterio Breaks Silence On Santos Escobar WWE Betrayal WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has broken his silence on Santos Escobar’s betrayal of him and the LWO last month.

Santos betrayed his mentor Rey Mysterio on the November 10 episode of SmackDown following Crown Jewel, where Rey lost the United States Championship to Logan Paul.

Rey has not appeared on SmackDown since, with his only television appearance being at NXT Deadline, when he provided commentary for Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee’s North American Championship match.

Rey did appear on last night’s Best of 2023 episode of SmackDown, where he broke his silence on Santos’ betrayal, calling it his most memorable moment of 2023.

He said:

“That’s a very easy question to answer. Unfortunately, what Santos did to me, at the same time, you know, it’s something that has occurred to me on several occasions throughout my longevity of being in the WWE. For some reason, I keep on picking the wrong partners, but things will be told when the time is right.

“That alignment, I kinda saw it coming once Santos stabbed me in the back. I don’t sweat it, I got my people, I have my crew, I have people that I really trust. Things will be taken care of sooner than later.”

Rey has been out of action with a torn meniscus since the attack.

It was recently reported that Rey, as well as Dominik, had re-signed with WWE, with Rey’s deal believed to be a three-year deal.

Santos aligned with Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo on last week’s SmackDown show, where Garza and Carrillo attacked the Street Profits to aid Santos against Bobby Lashley.
