WWE Hall Of Famer Wants Match Against Rhea Ripley: ‘I Could Take Her’

A WWE Hall of Famer has stated that she’d be interested in facing Rhea Ripley, amid speculation about her potential in-ring return.

Rhea Ripley has been out of action since early June, with the WWE Women’s Champion having knee surgery in early August.

Amid uncertainty about Ripley’s eventual return to the ring, former WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus has stated that she’d love to stand across the ring from the Eradicator.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Trish Stratus was asked about her dream opponents from the current WWE roster.

Stratus in turn asked the crowd for suggestions, and briefly acknowledged pitches for matches against Jade Cargill, Alexa Bliss, and even Oba Femi.

Showing a lot more enthusiasm following a fan suggesting Rhea Ripley, Trish Stratus said:

“Rhea Ripley, I’d like to fight Rhea. I’d like to fight her, I could take her.”

Trish Stratus last wrestled in July 2025, at the “Evolution” all-women’s WWE event. She challenged for Tiffany Stratton’s WWE Women’s Championship at this premium live event, ultimately coming up short.

This was Stratus’ third in-ring outing in 2025, celebrating 25 years of “Stratusfaction”. Prior to this, Stratus appeared in the women’s Royal Rumble match that February, entering in the 25th spot.

One month later, Stratus teamed with Tiffany Stratton to defeat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at the Elimination Chamber premium live event.

During this interview with Chris Van Vliet, Stratus indicated that she will only return to WWE if timing and her opponent make sense, and if she’s able to give it 100%.

Rhea Ripley’s last televised match saw her defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash In Italy in May, one month after defeating Cargill to win the gold at WrestleMania 42.

She last stepped into the ring at a non-televised house show in Portugal, teaming with Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton to defeat Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley

Chelsea Green became interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam, winning a ladder match for the gold. While she is generally referred to as the WWE Women’s Champion on TV, WWE.com still lists Green as the interim title holder and Ripley as the official champion at the time of writing.
