WWE has filed a trademark application related to a star who recently debuted, ahead of their upcoming championship match.

Having recently debuted on NXT, Zilla Fatu heads to Heatwave to challenge Tony D’Angelo for the championship in a four-way match also featuring Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller.

The August 30 NXT Heatwave show marks one of a very short list of WWE stars who have contested a championship in their debut match.

A new application was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term ‘Zilla Fatu’ under Serial Number 50075900.

Files on August 27, the application covers the Goods and Services category:

Fatu recently saw his first merchandise drop as a WWE star, with a T-shirt being released and available for pre-order.

A Main Roster Star Is Born On NXT

Assuming all goes to plan, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Zilla Fatu get his main roster call-up, joining a number of Bloodline family members who currently feature on Raw and SmackDown.

Whether it will happen in the near future or a few years down the line remains to be seen. Solo Sikoa signed with WWE in 2021, becoming NXT North American Champion before his main roster call-up in September of the following year.

Elsewhere in the family, Talla Tonga debuted in June of last year on the main roster, with having also skipped NXT when he made his debut in June 2024.

Whatever the pathway into WWE, The Bloodline remain a prominent aspect of the roster, particularly with some members of the legacy not associated with the story. Tamina and Nia Jax have both remained outside the various machinations of Reigns, Sikoa and the family, despite their relationship.

Zilla Fatu as NXT Champion would be a solid test of a star who has demonstrated his potential across the independent wrestling scene since his debut there back in July 2023.
