Hall of Famer Rikishi has pushed for WWE to sign his nephew, MLW star Jacob Fatu.
The Anoa’i dynasty is currently thriving in WWE. Roman Reigns leads the Bloodline faction, holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Three of Rikishi’s sons, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa, support the Tribal Chief as part of the Bloodline stable. Sami Zayn is also part of the faction, and Rikishi’s son in spirit.
During a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, Rikishi questioned why WWE hasn’t reached out to his nephew, Jacob Fatu. Also pitching for AEW so sign the star, Rikishi said:
“WWE, why don’t you guys sign him (Jacob Fatu)? AEW? I believe he does (still have a contract with MLW). Otherwise, he wouldn’t be there.”
Jacob Fatu is the son of Sam Fatu, who wrestled as ‘The Tonga Kid’ and ‘Tama’ in WWE (WWF), and as ‘The Samoan Savage’ in WCW.
Jacob debuted for MLW in 2019 and went on to become the longest reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion in the promotion’s history, holding the gold for 819 days before dropping the title to Alex Hammerstone in October 2021.
The Anoa’i family member last wrestled for MLW in June, but has been active on the independent scene in the months since then.
Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel on November 5.
