Roman Reigns Reaches Unfortunate WWE Milestone

Roman Reigns Reaches Unfortunate WWE Milestone WWE

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has reached a pretty unfortunate milestone as the SmackDown brand’s top titleholder.

WWE often touts Reigns as the most dominant champion of the modern era, with Reigns recently passing 1000 days as Universal Champion.

While Reigns is often celebrated as WWE’s most dominant star, many fans have criticised the Tribal Chief for his lack of title defences, and lack of clean victories.

Reigns most recently defended his title on WWE TV against Cody Rhodes on the April 2 WrestleMania 39 Sunday show.

It has now been pointed out that Reigns hasn’t defended his Universal Championship in a televised match for over 100 days.

Saturday (July 15) marking Reigns’ 104th day since putting his title on the line on WWE TV.

Reigns has technically retained his title since then, defeating Rey Mysterio at a house show on June 17, however this was an untelevised bout with no real build.

The Tribal Chief has been active on premium live events since then, unsuccessfully challenging for Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens’ WWE Tag Team Title at Night of Champions in May.

More recently, Reigns was pinned by Jey Uso in the Bloodline Civil War tag bout on July 1.

The latter match marked Reigns’ first pinfall loss since losing to Baron Corbin at the December 2019 TLC premium live event.

Reigns will be on next week’s (July 21) edition of SmackDown to confront Jey Uso in a ‘Rules of Engagement’ segment.

This comes after Jey Uso issued a challenge to Reigns for a title match on the July 7 show.

WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has reached a more impressive milestone, which you can read more about right here.
