Ronda Rousey made her ROH debut on the November 23, 2023, episode that was recorded on the November 17 AEW Dynamite.
Her debut would see her team with Marina Shafir against Athena and Billie Starkz.
Rousey hasn’t signed with AEW and it was later revealed that her appearance was a ‘favor to alleviate a complex political issue.’
The nature of the ‘political situation’ wasn’t specified, though it was also noted that she was doing it to ‘help her friend, Marina Shafir.’
Shafir and Rousey would be victorious in the match and have a post-match bizarre ‘candid’ backstage conversation.
Reflecting on her match, Rousey posted her thoughts on Instagram, writing:
“Apparently kneeing people in the face is great for your hair – @marinashafir is that a smile I see?
“Thank you @athenapalmer_fg and @billie_starkz for being down to get down at the very last minute, you ladies are killing it.”
At the AEW Full Gear press conference, Tony Khan discussed Rousey’s debut confirming she wasn’t signed.
Rousey and Shafir had previously faced Athena and Starkz at REVOLVER Unreal on November 16, 2023.
She last competed for WWE at SummerSlam in August 2023, losing to Shayna Baszler.
