Potential Team For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 Revealed? AEW

A top NJPW star has named two AEW stars that he wishes to team with at the next Forbidden Door event in 2024.

Speaking to Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Tetsuya Naito named La Faccion Ingobernables members Rush and Andrade El Idolo as the two men he hopes to stand in the ring with next year.

Naito said:

“There are various circumstances.

“I owe them a debt of gratitude & if anything, I owe NJPW a debt of gratitude as well.

“I can’t avoid them. If they are in the event next year, I would like to stand in the same ring with them.”

Rush first formed Los Ingobernables in CMLL in 2014 with Andrade (then La Sombra) as a founding member.

Tetsuya Naito became an official member of the group the following year in 2015 and even founded his own Japanese offshoot branch known as Los Ingobernables De Japón, a group he still heads up to this day.

Neither Rush nor Andrade have competed on either instalment of Forbidden Door as of yet due mostly to them being AAA-affiliated, while NJPW doesn’t work with AAA, only CMLL.

There may be hope for next year however as Rush recently announced his departure from AAA, although his own AEW status also looks unclear with his contract reportedly due to expire soon.

Tetsuya Naito on the other hand did at least get to compete at Forbidden Door and in-turn make his AEW debut, tagging up with Sting and Darby Allin in a victory over Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki.
