It seemed as though WWE had written Edge off of television when he was attacked by Finn Balor and the Judgment Day following his match with Dominik Mysterio, with Balor attacking Edge’s leg with a steel chair.
Since then, the Judgment Day have been attempting to recruit new members into their group, including AJ Styles and Matt Riddle.
The main event of tonight’s Raw show in Edmonton, Canada saw Damian Priest of the group face off with Riddle, with Riddle escaping with the win via a roll up.
After the match, Priest, Balor and Dominik Mysterio continued to attack Riddle before Edge made his return to chase the group off.
Edge then took the microphone and challenged Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules.
Also on tonight’s show, a stipulation was added to Bianca Belair and Bayley’s Raw Women’s Championship match on the show.
