Roman Reigns has reigned as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion since he defeated Brock Lesnar in a Winner Takes All match in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania 38 show.
Shortly after Roman’s win, the Usos became the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in May, defeating RK-Bro in a Winner Take All tag team match.
With both the World and Tag Team Championships currently serving as one singular unified title, fans have speculated that maybe the Women’s Championships could be next.
Becky Lynch famously became ‘Becky 2 Belts’ after winning both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship in WrestleMania 35’s main event, but she continued to defend the titles as two separate championships.
Current SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair recently spoke to the News-Journal during her appearace at the Daytona 500, where she was asked if there were any women that she hasn’t worked with that she would like the chance to.
Charlotte named current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair as someone who she has never had a proper program with, and that she would be the one she’d choose.
She was then asked about a potential title unification match between the two women’s champions. Charlotte appeared to be very much against that idea however, saying that it would mean there would be less opportunities for the women in the company.
She said:
I don’t recommend a unification program because I feel that would mean less opportunities for the women. It was cool for one of the girls to have both titles at one time, but it takes a lot of spots away.
A unification program between the two champions isn’t set to happen at WrestleMania, as Charlotte is set to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley on the show.
Meanwhile, Bianca Belair will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka following her victory in the Elimination Chamber.
