The AEW World Title #1 contender tournament is underway, with matches taking place both on Dynamite and Rampage this week.
Now that AEW Rampage has aired, it is no longer a spoiler to report that Penta El Zero Miedo beat Jay Lethal to advance in the opening bout of the night to secure his spot in the semi-finals.
In the night’s main event, Samoa Joe beat Jeff Hardy to advance to the semi-finals tomorrow night on AEW Collision.
The two quarter-finals on the left hand side of the bracket took place on Dynamite with Roderick Strong beating Trent Beretta, and Darby Allin beating Nick Wayne.
The two semi-finals will take place on Saturday’s Collision, pitting Roderick Strong against Darby Allin as well as Penta taking on Joe.
The final of the tournament will take place on next week’s Dynamite, and the winner of the final will challenge MJF for the title at Dynamite Grand Slam the week after that.
