Willow Nightingale Injury Update Ahead Of AEW Women’s World Championship Match At All In London 2026

AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale has shared an update on her injury ahead of their scheduled title defense at All In London.

With AEW set to take over Wembley Stadium on Sunday (August 30), there has recently been some uncertainty cast on one of the top championship matches slated for the event.

During the August 27 All In media call, Tony Khan confirmed that AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale had suffered a broken hand, but at that point, was still slated to defend her gold at All In London.

Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, Nightingale confirmed that she was set to have a medical check-up following that interview on Friday.

Noting that she will fight with all her heart regardless of the severity of the injury, Nightingale said:

“The bitch is broke. We don’t know the severity of that yet, I’m going for an x-ray after this. I’m hoping that it is not so bad so I can have a little bit of wrist movement, but if it is that bad, I will have to have something that is much closer to this (her cast) where it’s kind of like a little club, we’ll see.

“Either way, I’m gonna do what I do, and that is fight with all my heart, and beat people up.”

Nightingale is set to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Mercedes Mone. Her challenger won the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to earn this title shot.

Mercedes Mone defeated Maya World in the tournament final at Forbidden Door in June to punch her ticket for this weekend’s stadium pay-per-view event.

This is the second straight year that Mone has won the Owen Hart Cup, defeating Jamie Hayter to lift the trophy in 2025. She lost her subsequent title match, unsuccessfully challenging Toni Storm at All In Texas last July.

Willow’s injury adds another layer of intrigue onto the bout, as fans question whether or not the current champion will need to drop the title and have time away from the ring to recover.
