New Match Confirmed For WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event

A new match has been officially confirmed for WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, Georgia next weekend.

On the SmackDown after WWE SummerSlam, the main event of the show saw Charlotte Flair face off against Jade Cargill in singles match for the first time ever.

Charlotte would ultimately end up scoring the win thanks to the aid of the returning Alexa Bliss, who brought NXT’s Tatum Paxley with her, marking Tatum’s official call up to the main roster.

Tatum has been aligned with Alexa and Charlotte since her arrival, with her making her in-ring debut on the main roster on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, picking up the win against Michin.

However, it won’t take Tatum long for her to get her first spotlight on a bigger stage.

Six-Woman Tag Team Match Announced For Sunday Night’s Main Event

During a backstage interview on SmackDown, Charlotte and Alexa approached Tatum, with Alexa informing her that the three of them will face Jade, Michin and B-Fab at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta.

This will be the second time that Charlotte and Alexa have faced Jade, Michin and B-Fab at a Saturday Night’s Main Event special this year, as the two of them teamed with Rhea Ripley to face the trio on May’s edition of the show.

There are now four matches official for Sunday Night’s Main Event, which will also feature Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin.

Final Match Added To Sunday Night’s Main Event?

With four matches announced, the number of matches announced for Sunday Night’s Main Event matches the last edition of the show, though that show did feature an extended segment in the main event with Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson.

The stipulation for the Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin match is that if Yachty can survive five minutes, Trick will get his shot at Corbin’s United States Championship that same night, which would technically be the fifth match on the card.

However, there are a number of matches that could be added to the show, with several rivalries on Raw and SmackDown right now that could use the spotlight on the show, such as Blake Monroe vs. Giulia and the new group of OTM and Royce Keys.
