Absent AEW Star Returning At All In: London?

An absent AEW star could be gearing up for a return this weekend at All In: London, taking place at Wembley Stadium.

Last in action on the July 31 episode of AEW Collision last year, Dustin Rhodes has been absent from in-ring action, having undergone double knee surgery.

Rhodes recently teased a potential return to the ring and a quest towards capturing a World Championship, although no date was set for his comeback.

The former TNT Champion has now shared a post to social media that seems to indicate that he may be about to make that return.

Over on Twitter, Rhodes shared a photo of a whiteboard bearing the C. S. Lewis quote:

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

The post was accompanied by a comment from Rhodes reading;

“Saw this today in the gym by Wembley!!!

“#KeepSteppin

“Very true!!”

Wembley is, of course, the area of London that will play host to AEW All In: London on August 30, although Rhodes hasn’t been confirmed for the event.

A Brutal End To A Championship Reign

A Chicago Street Fight brought Rhodes’ reign as TNT Champion to an end on the July 31 episode of AEW Collision, just nineteen days after he won the title at the All In four-way, defeating Fletcher, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara for the vacant championship.

Rhodes would have to step away from in-ring action after that match to undergo the aforementioned surgery, being forced to vacate the ROH World Six-Man and ROH World Tag Team Championship that he held with Marshall & Ross Von Erich and Sammy Guevara respectively.

With The Sons of Texas no more thanks to Sammy Guevara’s attack upon the Von Erichs, the faction may be no more, but there’s certainly an opportunity for a returning Rhodes to revisit just what went down in his absence.

Guevara continues to be a member of La Faccion Ingobernable, capturing his third ROH World Tag Team Championship with The Beast Mortos at ROH Final Battle on December 5 last year. They would hold the title for 203 days, with their defeat coming at CMLL Viernes Espectaular at the hands of Mistico & Mascara Dorada.
