The Rock Makes ‘Promise’ For WWE WrestleMania Return

The Rock made a promise to some WWE fans for his next appearance at the company’s ‘Grandest Stage of Them All.’

The WrestleMania 43 status of The Rock has been the subject of speculation ever since the event was confirmed to be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It had been reported that Saudi Arabia were keen on having The Rock wrestle on the show, and ‘The Final Boss’ later stated that he had been having “good conversations” regarding appearing at the event.

However, the most recent update today (August 28) from Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter paints a less positive picture regarding The Rock’s potential appearance, with it being revealed that his movie schedule may make any in-ring appearance highly unlikely.

While his status for next year’s WrestleMania is up in the air, The Rock has now made a promise to some fans for “whenever” he does next appear at WWE’s biggest show.

Appearing as a surprise guest on The Morning Shift podcast, one of the hosts noted how one of his dreams is to be in the audience at WrestleMania when The Rock makes his entrance, which led Rock to reply:

“I’ll make the promise to you now. Whenever I do go back to WrestleMania I gotta have you guys out, you’ll be my special guests for sure.”

The Rock’s last WWE appearance came at Elimination Chamber 2025, where he played a pivotal role in John Cena’s shock heel turn.

Despite the angle seemingly setting up The Rock playing a role in the build to Cena’s Undisputed WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, this never happened, and fans instead got Travis Scott interfering – alone – during Rhodes and Cena’s match.
