7 Matches To Be Added To WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event

On September 6, WWE will present their first Sunday Night’s Main Event from Atlanta, Georgia.

Ahead of the show, Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker, Baron Corbin vs. Lil Yachty in a Five Minute Challenge and a WrestleMania rematch between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton have all been announced.

With a little over a week ahead of the special, there is a lot of potential for more interesting matches.

Here are seven potential matches to be added to WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.

Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab

On the August 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair defeated Jade Cargill.

To counteract Cargill’s crew of Michin and B-Fab got involved, Alexa Bliss made her return alongside the debuting Tatum Paxley to even the odds.

Paxley is now set to make her main roster in-ring debut against Michin on the August 28 SmackDown.

Following this debut, Paxley, Flair and Bliss facing The Baddies will add some excitement to SNME

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chad Gable (c) vs. Ethan Page

At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chad Gable defeated Penta to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Since winning the gold, Gable has been adamant that he wants to prove himself as a fighting champion.

Then on the August 24 WWE Raw, Ethan Page confronted Gable and accused him of avoiding him.

Gable shutting up Page by defending against him at SNME has all the makings of a showstealer.

Paige vs. Nikki Bella

Back at WWE WrestleMania 42 Night One, Paige made her return to replace Nikki Bella to team with Brie Bella to defeat The Irresistible Forces, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Then at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One, Fatal Influence defeated Paige and The Bella Twins in a six-woman tag team match.

After the bout, The Bellas turned on Paige in a two-on-one beatdown to betray their former friend.

Wanting revenge, Paige facing Nikki Bella gives her the opportunity for revenge at SNME.

WWE Women’s Championship: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Nia Jax

At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chelsea Green defeated Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair in a Ladder Match to win the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.

Despite just winning the gold, Green already has a huge target on her back over the past few weeks.

Green has beaten down time after time by Nia Jax and Lash Legend on SmackDown.

Being injured since the week after SummerSlam, it might be time for Green to defend against Jax at SNME on September 6.

The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs. Becky Lynch, Stephanie Vaquer & Sol Ruca

On the August 3 episode of WWE Raw, Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer made their returns to the company to confront WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.

There is now tension between Vaquer and Lynch with both women wanting a shot at Liv.

After picking up a win over Roxanne Perez on the August 24 WWE Raw, it was announced “La Primera” will challenge Morgan in a WrestleMania rematch for the title on the September 7 edition of Raw.

Vaquer teaming with Lynch and Sol Ruca to face Judgment Day seems like a good way to hype that WWE Women’s World Championship match.

The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu & The Usos) vs. Royce Keys & OTM (Lucien Price & Bronco Nima)

On the August 24 episode of WWE Raw, Royce Keys and OTM laid out LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and The Usos.

Keys and OTM obviously made a huge statement with this brutal assault.

Following Keys being injured by Jacob Fatu, this new unit of Royce and OTM have positioned themselves as a threat to The Bloodline

Now, Jacob Fatu teaming with The Usos to face Keys and OTM will deliver a chaotic battle in Atlanta.

Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

On the August 21 SmackDown, CM Punk defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

This win came as a result of Sami Zayn getting involved to cost his former best friend the gold.

After the match, Zayn then attacked and laid out both Owens and Punk to stand tall.

Punk defending against KO and Zayn would make for a highly anticipated headliner for SNME.
