Ahead of WWE Backlash, Paul Heyman has revealed what he saw in Bron Breakker and what to expect when he faces Seth Rollins on Saturday.

After reigniting his feud with The Vision upon his own return from injury at Elimination Chamber back in February, Seth Rollins goes on to face Bron Breakker at WWE Backlash on May 9.

With Bron Breakker, himself sidelined from injury, would return at WrestleMania 42, costing Seth Rollins his match against GUNTHER on Night 1 this April.

With WWE Backlash just days away, Paul Heyman appeared on ESPN’s Get Up to discuss what he saw in Bron Breakker, having brought him into The Vision back in April last year, saying:

“You’re right, I’m a Hall of Famer, I’m a wiseman, I’m an advocate, but I am an oracle.

“What did I see in Bron Breakker? The future of WWE. He checks every single box. He’s faster than anybody, he’s stronger than anybody, he’s tougher than anybody. He’s a legitimate athlete, coming from D1 into the Baltimore Ravens and straight to WWE.

“He is absolutely everything that we at WWE look for (as) the future of this entire industry.”

When it comes to the match at WWE Backlash, Heyman was emphatic in what he expects Breakker to deliver, stating:

“Expect to see the unexpected, because in WWE, surprises are the norm.

“What can you expect to see from Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins? You can see Bron Breakker be the most physical athlete in WWE since the retirement of Brock Lesnar.”

Breakker has made his intent clear in a recent interview, stating that he wants to put his story with Rollins “to bed” after the upcoming match.

Closing The Chapter On The Vision

Twice would be the number of times that Seth Rollins has been written off television during his time with The Vision, and it was quite the journey through storytelling.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event back in July of last year saw Rollins pick up an “injury” during his match with LA Knight, which was later revealed to be all a ruse, seeing him return at SummerSlam, cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, defeat CM Punk and become the World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins may have revelled in the rug pull and the mind games that he played with his whole ruse, but a legitimate injury picked up during his match at WWE Crown Jewel against Cody Rhodes would be less part of a story and more a legitimate situation. Unfortunately, for Rollins and, perhaps, WWE, many were sceptical of the authenticity of the “Rollins is really injured this time” stance.

Suffice to say, steps were put in place to write Rollins off of television, with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed attacking The Visionary, banishing from The Vision and allowing him time to recover from the aforementioned legitimate injury.

It seemed sensible that, upon his return, WWE would reinsert Rollins into the feud with The Vision, and a match against Breakker, one of the men who attacked him, was always on the cards. Sadly, revenge on Reed will have to wait, as that star also remains injured. If Breakker is able to bring the story to a conclusion, perhaps it’s a good thing, as it will allow both men to go their separate ways and onto new challenges.

An unknown quantity at this time in the match at Backlash would be Logan Paul and Austin Theory, neither of whom has a match, despite being the WWE World Tag Team Champions. No doubt, they’ll both make their presence felt when it comes to Rollins.
