WWE Hall of Famer Kane has commented on the possibility of CM Punk making a return to the company following recent speculation.
Although never officially retired, Kane was last in action at the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble and has made a few appearances since.
In August 2018, the real-life Glenn Jacobs was elected the Mayor of Knox County and would secure his second term in office during the 2022 mayoral election.
A divisive figure for his political views, Jacobs has previously spoken about how he has clashed with the likes of Bryan Danielson and frequently gets criticized for his opinion on Twitter.
During an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge, Jacobs addressed the possibility of a return to WWE for CM Punk, a controversial figure in his own right, saying:
“That’s a business decision. You know, I always wish everybody the best.
“Again, in the end, it’s going to be what everyone thinks is best for business, right?
“I really don’t know that much about the controversy, actually. I haven’t followed that closely.
“I just always want the best for everybody.”
Kane was the man who would chokeslam Punk through a table at the 2014 Royal Rumble which would be the last time WWE fans would see Punk in action in the company.
CM Punk was fired by AEW in September 2023 after an investigation into events at AEW All In which took place on August 27 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
The backstage incident also involved Jack Perry and saw Perry “suspended indefinitely” with AEW owner Tony Khan revealing that he was left feeling that his “life was in danger.”
With CM Punk now a free agent, it was recently reported that WWE creative “have not been told of anything involving him” and he isn’t currently planned for a return.
