WWE Star Pitches Major Match Against AEW’s The Elite

Xavier Woods has pitched a huge interpromotional match between the New Day and several top AEW stars.

Since joining forces in 2014, Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E have all had successful runs.

Not only have they had numerous tag title runs, Kingston and Big E have both held the WWE Championship, and Woods won the 2021 King of the Ring tournament while representing the New Day.

Speaking on My Love Letter to Wrestling, Xavier Woods noted that he’d love for the New Day to wrestle stars from other companies when celebrating the group’s anniversary next year.

Pitching for a match against The Elite, Woods said:

“I feel like the ten-year anniversary for New Day, my magic wand wish would be we get to go to Tokyo for a week. Spend time in Tokyo arcades for a full week hanging out.

(On the possibility of competing for NJPW during this trip) “As much as we can get. Especially if we can work at other places now. I’m trying to wrestle everybody.

“There are so many names on the list. It feels weird to start anywhere because I want to start everywhere.

“If we could legit branch out and wrestle other teams, obviously, the Young Bucks. We’d love a six-man with the Elite. There are so many people. I can’t name them.”

Both Kingston and Big E are recovering from injuries, with Kingston hurting his ankle in March, and Big E suffering a broken neck in early 2022.
