There were updates to the card for the upcoming WWE Fastlane event announced tonight including LA Knight teaming with John Cena.
A variety of matches were made for WWE Fastlane throughout tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown as the card for the next premium live event continued to take shape.
After a big brawl earlier in the show, in a backstage segment Rey Mysterio said that LWO challenged the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley to a match at WWE Fastlane.
A specific set of members for the challenge wasn’t named however Dragon Lee made an appearance on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, and is set to appear again next week to take on Austin Theory so perhaps he will get involved.
Elsewhere, Charlotte Flair bested Bayley in a match that Flair declared carried the stipulation that she would be facing IYO SKY at WWE Fastlane if she won.
Bayley was irritated and commanded Damage CTRL to surround the ring, telling Flair she wasn’t going to hop the line because they were going to take her out.
But instead before a beatdown, Asuka ran out and shouted in Japanese at Damage CTRL.
Bayley then elected to “accept Asuka’s challenge” for a three-way match for the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE Fastlane between Asuka, IYO SKY and Charlotte, much to the shock of IYO SKY.
And finally in the main event segment, a slight repeat of last week’s angle that saw John Cena getting beaten down by the Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.
However this time, LA Knight did make the run out save, signing the contract and declaring himself the partner of John Cena against the Bloodline at WWE Fastlane.
Also on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE aired a hype video about the signing of Jade Cargill to the company.
