Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya has commented on her dream plans for her eventual wrestling retirement match.
Natalya is one of the longest tenured WWE stars on the active women’s roster. With a career that has had her see many major milestones for the women’s division, it’s hard to imagine WWE without the Queen of Harts.
Speaking with the Toronto Son, Natalya noted that she’d love to wrestle her final match in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, if she was given the choice.
Discussing her hopes for her retirement, but noting that she has no intentions of hanging her boots up anytime soon, she said:
“I mean, that’s the dream of every wrestler, I think, to be able to pick their ending, to pick the day that they don’t want to do this anymore or the day that they want to retire or the day.
“It’s like that perfect fairy tale ending. For me, I don’t know when my last day will be, and I have no intentions of retiring anytime soon, but if I could pick a place where I would have a last match per se, I don’t think there would be a place more perfect than Calgary.
“And when and if that day comes — maybe I could put it out there to the wrestling gods — that that’s the place that I would like to celebrate the ending of my career.”
Natalya recently challenged for Rhea Ripley’s SmackDown Women’s Title at Night of Champions 2023, but was defeated in just over a minute. Ripley has now addressed this squash victory, which you can read more about right here.
