WWE Addresses First Year Of WWE ID Program

WWE has addressed first year of its Independent Development program, touting accomplishments from WWE ID in 2025.

With WWE announcing WWE Independent Development/WWE ID in October 2024, 2025 marked the first full year of this developmental program, designed to provide indie wrestlers a pathway to a potential WWE career.

The WWE ID Twitter account has shared a list of the accomplishments of WWE ID, which included:

-WWE ID prospects were prominently featured on WWE Evolve on @Tubi

-The first and only WWE Evolve Men’s Champion is a WWE ID prospect.

-WWE ID prospects wrestled on NXT, in the Speed tournament, and for the NXT North American Title.

-WWE ID prospects wrestled on NXT at MSG in NYC.

-WWE ID prospects had the opportunity to train at the WWE Performance Center.

-WWE prospects were featured on all WWE social media platforms, including X and YouTube.

-WWE prospects were featured in ads that aired on Raw, Smackdown, as well as WWE and NXT Premium Live Events.

-WWE ID prospects took part in and were signed in the WWE SummerSlam Tryout.

-WWE ID prospects received exclusive mentorship from “X-Pac” Sean Waltman, Timothy Thatcher, Gabe Sapolsky, and others.

-WWE ID prospects were given the means to increase their fitness and conditioning.

-WWE ID schools gave aspiring wrestlers and upcoming independent talent a clear pathway to WWE/NXT.

-Some WWE ID schools hosted 2-day Masterclass Camps, which saw a prospect ID’ed. Others will receive a WWE Tryout in 2026.

-The first ever WWE ID Champions were crowned. The WWE ID Titles are defended exclusively on the independents. If an indie wrestler wins the ID Championship, they will also earn a WWE ID contract. Having WWE sanctioned titles defended exclusively on the independents is unprecedented.

-The WWE ID Championship was defended in various independent wrestling promotions.

-WWE ID Showcase matches with WWE ID prospects were featured in numerous independent wrestling promotions, allowing the indie promotions to promote using the WWE ID logo.

-There were several “ID Showcase” cards featuring almost all the WWE ID prospects. The first one of 2026 will be House Of Champions presents The ID Showcase on Jan. 10th, outside Orlando. 

-This X account featured exclusive promos, videos and complete matches.
