‘WWE Is My Home’ – Drew McIntyre Addresses Highlander Reboot Acting Role WWE

Drew McIntyre has addressed his role in the upcoming movie reboot of Highlander and balancing WWE along with his acting ambitions.

Back in September 2025 it was reported that Drew McIntyre had been cast in the reboot of 1986 movie Highlander, with “The Scottish Warrior” joining the likes of Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe and WWE legend Dave Bautista in the film.

It has been reported that McIntyre has been travelling back-and-forth to his home country of Scotland to film his role as Angus Macleod, and during an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter, McIntyre was asked about the role and how he’s balancing acting with his WWE duties.

McIntyre said:

“I was in the Highlands of Scotland this week. Yeah, the paparazzi photos are out, obviously saw myself, Henry Cavill.

“Very excited to be a part of such a big project. But WWE is my home. I can balance it all, I can do it all and I feel very fortunate that my career is going so well. WWE is going so well.”

Drew McIntyre Accuses Jacob Fatu Of “Stealing” His Undisputed WWE Championship & WrestleMania 42 Main Event Spot

Despite holding the Undisputed WWE Championship for 56 days between January and March, Drew McIntyre will be walking into WrestleMania 42 not with gold around his waist, but instead heading into an Unsanctioned Match with Jacob Fatu.

During the same interview with SportsCenter, McIntyre discussed his match with Fatu, accusing “The Samoan Werewolf” of “stealing” his opportunity to main event “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

McIntyre said:

“I should be walking into Mania WWE Champion. I should be in the main event. Jacob cost me that which is pretty frustrating, but that’s what he does. He steals.

“For those that don’t out there, Jacob Fatu legitimately spent time in prison. He’s a convict. It comes naturally to him to steal and he stole my title, stole my main event and tonight, my Mania moment is completely beating his ass.

“Then afterwards he’s going to do what he does, he’s going to screw up. He’s going to end up back in jail and he has about 20 kids, so one day he’ll have to sponge off one of them. He’s going to get fired and he’s going to end up back in jail because he’s a freakin’ convict.”
