WWE Name Questions If CM Punk Damaged His Reputation In AEW AEW

Tony Khan and AEW officially announced that CM Punk’s contracts with the company were terminated on September 2.

Punk’s termination came following the investigation into the backstage incident at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.

Following his AEW departure, many have speculated about Punk potentially making a return to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago this year.

The most recent report noted that WWE had turned down the chance to sign Punk for now, but the teases for a potential arrival have continued on WWE television.

Many believe that Punk ‘damaged his reputation’ with his AEW departure, but WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg spoke about Punk on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, where he questioned if that’s really the case.

He said:

“Is his reputation damaged? That’s the question I would ask. His reputation in what? Wrestling? Come on, man! There’s so much more than wrestling. Does he have a reputation that he needs to protect? I don’t know.

“From everything we heard [about his time in AEW], he did come off as the negative actioneer. But, was he? Because we don’t really know what happened. We didn’t see and hear everything — it’s just [that] everybody guesses and speculates.”

WWE recently brought major attention to a segment on Raw that many believed to be a tease for Punk’s return to the company.

While Punk’s return may be up in the air, another major star may be making his return in time for Survivor Series, which you can see here.
