A WWE star has seemingly teased an announcement ahead of their impending contract expiry date, potentially in relation to their future wrestling plans.
As has been widely reported, the WWE contracts of NXT stars Jagger Reid (James Drake) and Rip Fowler (Zack Gibson), collectively known as the Dyad (or the Grizzled Young Veterans) are set to expire on Saturday, October 14.
Despite continuing to feature on WWE NXT TV until late August, Drake and Gibson have made it known that they would not be extending their deals, with the pair announcing as such way back in April when they were both denied their release from their contracts.
However, now with their day of release within touching distance, the Grizzled Young Veterans have teased a potential announcement on Twitter.
Drake posted to Twitter an image of two pairs of ring boots belonging to himself and partner Gibson along with the caption:
Time waits for no one.
Saturday.
12pm EST (US)
5pm (UK)
With this being the day of their release and assuming there’s no non-compete clause being in place due to their contracts simply running down, one would assume the team will make an announcement regarding their post WWE plans in some regard.
Recently, Drake and Gibson even made reference to a popular AEW team, perhaps suggesting they would be open to working in the company in the future.
