Confusion Surrounding Nia Jax’s WWE Roster Status After Royal Rumble WWE

There is currently confusion over the WWE status of Nia Jax following her return at the Royal Rumble on January 28.

Shouting “I’m back” a number of times, Nia Jax appeared as entrant number 30 in the Women’s Royal Rumble.

Following her appearance, it’s become less clear whether Jax is back for the long term or just for that one appearance.

Shortly after her appearance, WWE Shop released a new T-shirt for Nia Jax featuring the “Irrestible Force” motif.

The WWE website, however, would feature Nia Jax in the Alumni section, slotted between Neville and Nigel McGuinness.

Jax was also recently advertised for The Big Horror Event on March 10 and 11 as “Lina Fanene FKA Nia Jax” where she would appear with The Kingdom and Gail Kim.

As Wrestling Inc notes, it is possible that the graphic used for Jax is an old one as it was released on the night of the Royal Rumble.

She could, potentially, be signed by WWE and being allowed to fulfil her previous commitments.

Jax was previously billed as part of the short-lived Wrestling Entertainment Series and had accused the company of “misleading fans”.

It was recently rumored that Triple H was interested in bringing back the Authors of Pain (Akam & Razer).

The pair were behind the failed WES promotion that had also booked Braun Strowman and Lana, among others.

The WES show was due to run in Nottingham, England on June 4 2022 but would be delayed until July 9 before not running at all.

It remains to be seen whether Nia, who was aligned with neither Raw or SmackDown during her Rumble appearance, is signed with WWE or is truly still a WWE alumni.

That said, Chelsea Green, who also returned to WWE at the January 28 event is no longer in the WWE Alumni section of the website, having been moved to the current roster section.
