Real Reason WWE Pulled Becky Lynch Vs Trish Stratus From SummerSlam 2023 WWE

The real reason why WWE pulled Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus from the lineup for SummerSlam 2023 has been revealed.

WWE has been building a Lynch vs Stratus match for the August 5 premium live event since April, ever since Stratus turned on Lynch on the April 10 edition of Raw.

In an odd turn of events, it has now been announced that Lynch and Stratus will face off on the August 14 edition of Raw in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Per Fightful Select, WWE made the decision to move the match to TV as it would’ve been severely limited on by time on the SummerSlam card.

It was noted that WWE has been adamant about limiting the number of matches for premium live event shows, which lead to some matches being moved off the SummerSlam card.

This was corroborated by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who reported that WWE has a time limit on the show and didn’t want to short change any matches.

Fightful also reported that ‘neither woman was thrilled’ about the match being moved to Raw. WWE’s intention to move the match reportedly became clear in the days before the announcement that the match would be taking place after SummerSlam.

As previously reported, WWE discussed the possibility of moving the match to Payback before choosing to move it to Raw.

There’s reportedly ‘growing frustration’ backstage about WWE’s booking of the women’s division, which you can read more about right here.
