A WWE higher-up has responded to claims made by Hulk Hogan regarding his son competing in a match at WrestleMania 39 against Shane McMahon.
Speaking in an eyebrow-raising interview with Chris Van Vliet, Hogan followed up on comments he made back in May, in which he stated that Shane-O-Mac had contacted him regarding a match at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood.
However, in a new, surprising tidbit of information Hogan would reveal that due to his inability to physically compete, there were discussions between he and Shane regarding Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, taking his place in the match.
As farfetched as that all sounds, Fightful Select spoke to a WWE higher-up in order to get some clarification on Hogan’s claims and to the surprise of few, it seems as if there is little truth to them according to this particular source.
Fightful’s source said:
“In no way is that true. I can’t think of a time in the last 13 or 14 years that Nick Hogan’s name was brought up at all, much less in a creative capacity.
“There has never been a serious conversation about him being involved in anything that I can think of.
“Even when Hulk would mention him being involved in things, there just wasn’t an interest or a benefit to that.”
While their response dismisses Hogan’s claim, the source did admit that Shane McMahon does often have “wacky” ideas, however, they don’t think even he would go as far as to pitch that idea.
