A rising WWE star has commented on a statement-making moment on this week’s NXT (August 8) where she took down the current WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.
After being defeated by Ripley on the July 25 edition of NXT, Lyra Valkyria re-emerged to get another taste of the division’s top star during a confrontation between Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and his father Rey.
Following Dom’s successful North American Title defence against Dragon Lee, Ripley got in Rey’s face, shoving the Hall of Famer around.
Thankfully for Rey, Valkyria took to the ring, attacking Ripley and sending both her and Dom packing as the babyfaces stood tall.
Now, in response to the surprise attack on the champ, Valkyria has taken to Twitter, re-tweeting a clip of the moment which featured the caption saying:
@Real_Valkyria wants all the smoke!
She just took out the Women’s World Champion, @RheaRipley_WWE #WWENXT
To which Valkyria responded simply with:
Yes i did
Valkyria’s efforts in her match with Ripley on July 25 seemingly earned her the champion’s respect, while the Irish born star stated in a post-match interview that the match meant ‘everything’ to her.
Now it seems as if Valkyria will have yet another chance to show her worth, only now with even more momentum after putting her previous rival Jacy Jayne behind her on last week’s NXT.
