In the main event of last week’s NXT Gold Rush show, Carmelo Hayes defeated Baron Corbin to retain his NXT Championship.
Corbin is in the middle of a character shift in the company, entering the match last week with his old Lone Wolf music and attire.
However, it seems like we may not be seeing more of the Lone Wolf after the match if tonight’s NXT show is anything to go by.
On the show, a new video aired to continue Corbin’s ongoing character shift.
The video saw Corbin reflect on his loss, saying that he may have let the nostalgia of the Lone Wolf get to him, before saying that to dictate his future, he can’t bank on the past, he had to kill it.
He then proceeded to burn representation of all his old gimmicks, including King Corbin’s crown, Happy Corbin’s shirt and Constable Corbin’s vest.
He ended the segment by saying it’s ‘no more gimmicks, no nonsense, no bulls**t’.
