WWE Star Reveals When He Found Out About CM Punk’s Return At Survivor Series

WWE star and Judgment Day member JD McDonagh has revealed when he found out about CM Punk’s return at WWE Survivor Series.

At WWE Survivor Series, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and Seth Rollins defeated The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre in the Men’s War Games match.

Following the conclusion of the bout, CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE for the first time in nearly a decade to a thunderous ovation from his hometown of Chicago.

After this return, reports circulated that some WWE stars involved in the War Games match were informed that Punk was making his return following the match.

Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh discussed the impact of CM Punk’s WWE return at Survivor Series. He said:

“Yeah, I was just looking at the crowd seeing who was reacting how hard they were reacting.”

“At the end of the day, I get it. I understand that this is a business and we’re here to make money for the company.”

“If you look at the social media numbers from the weekend, if you look at the viewership on RAW this week, the dude makes money for the company, he draws eyes to the product.”

“I’m going to be on the shows that he’s on now, drawing more eyes to that, so all good in my book.”

“We’ll see how it goes and either way it’ll be interesting to be backstage and and see it all go down,”

When asked if he found out about Punk’s return before the match, McDonagh confirmed that was the case. He said:

“Yeah. It was just background noise to me and I was like, OK, cool. I need to focus up on what’s going on here.”

CM Punk will appear on tonight’s December 8 episode of WWE SmackDown.
