The low ticket sales for WWE SummerSlam 2026 has reportedly been a ‘hot topic’ within the company over the past month.

WWE SummerSlam is set to take place next month, with the two nights of the show coming to Minneapolis’ US Bank Stadium.

The stadium has a 66,000 capacity, but the company has only sold 22,000 tickets to each night, and with just a month to go, it seems as though the show will be far from sold out at the time of the event.

In an update on SummerSlam ticket sales from WrestleVotes, the revelation in regards to the ticket sales for SummerSlam is not something that just came today, and it has been a hot topic in the company over the past month.

The SummerSlam ticket sale story, or lack thereof, has been a hot topic in Stamford over the past month or so.

This isn’t a realization that came today. It’s been a concern internally for weeks.

WWE has announced several major matches for the show, including Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship and a Hell In A Cell clash between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar.

WWE Stadium Shows vs. Arena Shows

In recent years, WWE has begun running more and more stadium shows, with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble and even Survivor Series all recently becoming stadium shows regularly in the TKO era.

The negative side of running so many stadium shows and charging the ticket prices that modern WWE charges is that it was always going to eventually lead to a downturn in business, with low selling stadium shows needing to be tarped off and looking worse on television.

With an arena show, WWE will be able to tout sell outs for almost all events, with many fans also preferring arena shows over stadium shows as the closed off, smaller environment creates a louder crowd noise when watching the show on television.

Ultimately, WWE and TKO would likely see taking major events from stadiums back to arenas as a demotion and an admission that the product is no longer as hot as it was several years ago, so we will likely see them continuing to persist with stadium shows for the foreseeable future, even after the low ticket sales for SummerSlam.
