AEW
An AEW star has addressed reports of his contract expiring soon, stating his intention to finish this chapter of his career “the right way.”
Scorpio Sky is someone who, although not the most visible on AEW programming at present, is among the most tenured stars on the All Elite Wrestling roster, having joined back in 2019 when the promotion started.
There are also few names in AEW who can boast the accolades of Sky during the company’s first three years, with the 43-year-old one half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions along with Frankie Kazarian, a two-time TNT Champion, and someone who went undefeated in singles competition for an entire year between March 2021 and April 2022.
Several lengthy absences from television saw his AEW career unfortunately tail off however, and while he has regained consistency over the past 12 months as the leader of SkyFlight, a report from Dave Meltzer in the June 26 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Sky’s contract with AEW was due to come up in “a few months.”
During an appearance on the latest episode of Tagging In With Chris Harris, Sky was asked about these reports, and responded by saying:
“You know I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I thought about what I’m gonna do, and what the future looks like but I really try not to put too much into that right now.
“I’m focused on finishing this chapter the right way. I have a lot of stories and matches and moments left to be a part of, and I’m excited to step into those moments.
“So, we’ll let tomorrow handle tomorrow and I’m just going to focus on today.”

What Next For Scorpio Sky If/When AEW Chapter Closes?
If this year is indeed the end of the road for Scorpio Sky in AEW, it’ll be hard to imagine what might have been, had he remained on the upward trajectory he appeared to be on during the first three years of the company’s existence.
While it was a knee injury which derailed his momentum in the Summer of 2022, much of Sky’s inactivity over the subsequent three years appeared to be due to creative, with Tony Khan even revealing in May 2025 that he and Sky had differing viewpoints regarding one specific idea for his return before he eventually re-emerged for his current run in SkyFlight in July 2025.
While it’s a shame to have seen Sky sit out much of his prime years, at 43, now be his last chance for a big move to another company.
He certainly appears to be in as good physical shape as ever before, and WWE would perhaps be wise to take a look at him as someone who could lend some experience to NXT.
Alternatively, Sky would have a great chance at success in TNA Wrestling, and could even reunite with former SCU tag team partner Frankie Kazarian, who continues to ply his trade in the Impact Zone.
Wherever he lands, Sky is someone who still has a lot to offer the world of professional wrestling.
