WWE has filed to trademark a new ring name that was first revealed earlier this week on the October 17 episode of NXT TV.
WWE announced on Monday night a day prior to NXT that Jakara Jackson wasn’t medically cleared and had to be pulled from the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
In her place was Brinley Reece, the new name for Performance Center recruit Breanna Ruggiero.
WWE did in fact file to trademark the Brinley Reece name on Saturday, October 14, so a couple of days before that change was announced.
The trademark was filed with the following description, which is typical of all new ring names:
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment
Reece was beaten in the first round of the NXT Breakout Tournament on Tuesday by Arianna Grace, who will now face Kelani Jordan in the semi-finals.
The other semi-final is Karmen Petrovic vs Lola Vice. Both semi-finals will take place next week on night one of Halloween Havoc.
