Paul Levesque may be respected as an authority figure but Triple H spent a lot of his career as a villain in WWE.
WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross has reflect on his contribution to the portrayal of Triple H during the early 2000s.
Reacting to a video shared on Twitter in which a fan said the “OP” Triple H was “final boss type sh*t”, a fan tweeted an observation to Ross, stating:
“And nobody hated that man more than good ole @JRsBBQ”
Jim Ross would reply to this statement in a tweet of his own, replying:
“My job was to make villains despised.
“I hope we succeeded with @TripleH
“I think we did. 🤠”
The footage that was shared was from Survivor Series in 2000 which saw Triple H take on Stone Cold Steve Austin in a No Disqualification match.
The match was part of their feud after Triple H revealed that he was behind Austin being run over by a car backstage at the 1999 Survivor Series.
As can be seen from the footage below, their match at Survivor Series 2000 would see Austin drop a car containing Triple H from a forklift ending the match as “no contest”.
