WWE Star Reveals WrestleMania 40 Moment Took Place On Anniversary Of Near Death Experience WWE

WWE star Joaquin Wilde has revealed why his WrestleMania 40 Night One appearance was so special to him.

Wilde appeared alongside the LWO faction to accompany Rey Mysterio and Andrade to the ring for their match against Santo Escobar and Dominik Mysterio.

The LWO and Legado Del Fantasma factions began to brawl at one point in the match, leading to Wilde performing his super-dive to his foes at ringside.

You can watch a clip of Wilde performing the move below.

Joaquin Wilde has now taken to Twitter to reveal that exactly seven years before Saturday, he almost died in a match in Mexico City.

Reflecting on his life and career, Wilde wrote:

Didn’t even realize it, but on this exact day 7 years ago is when i almost died after a match in Mexico City. Thought my wrestling career was ending that night. My life too.

Now its 7 years later and I just had a #WrestleMania moment! From my deathbed to Mania on the same date!

Dominik Mysterio wasn’t the only Judgment Day member to come up short at WrestleMania 40 Night One, with Finn Balor and Damian Priest losing both their Raw and SmackDown tag-team titles.

Finn Balor has now broken his silence after losing the Six Pack Tag Team Ladder Match, which you can read more about right here.
