Potential WrestleMania 40 Plans Scrapped Due To AEW? WWE/AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has explained why their WrestleMania 40 appearance allegedly got “canceled.”

Rob Van Dam has had a decorated career that has spanned nearly four decades and across multiple promotions, including WWE, ECW, WCW and TNA Wrestling.

Despite his association with WWE for the past 20 years, RVD debuted in All Elite Wrestling on the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite and faced Jack Perry for the FTW Championship. Since then, he has made two other appearance on AEW programming, teaming with HOOK.

Earlier this year, Van Dam hinted at his AEW appearances possibly costing him a chance to appear during WWE WrestleMania 40 weekend.

Appearing on Marty Jannetty’s Party With Marty podcast, RVD explained why his WrestleMania 40 appearance allegedly got canceled. He said:

“Allegedly I got booked for an appearance, and then allegedly that appearance was canceled when I showed up on an alleged competitor’s TV program, and then allegedly I might be pre-booked — either way, I’m going to be there at WrestleCon!”

Rob Van Dam last wrestled in a win alongside HOOK over Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds on the October 25 edition of AEW Dynamite.
