WWE are reportedly redesigning their men’s tag team championship belts, according to a report from Heel By Nature.
Belt insider BeltFanDan tweeted out previously that the redesigns were in the works after the Women’s Tag Team Championships were revealed in January.
It was also noted in the reportthat the Women’s Tag Team Championships were originally made to match the current men’s tag belts, but were scrapped as the company wasn’t happy with the final product.
Apparently, original plans for the redesign were just to add removable sideplates, but this has since changed to an entirely new design.
WWE contacted Dave McMillan, who designed the original copper penny belts that debuted in 2010 for the new designs.
You may remember Dash Wilder of the Revival recently tweeted out that he wanted the team to bring back the classic WWE Tag Title design that was used in the company from 1983-2002. Whether or not that is the plan is unknown.
