Unless you happen to be Patrick off Spongebob and have been living under a rock for the last couple of months, you’ll know that former WWE Champion Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) chose not to re-sign with the company and joined AEW.
His former teammate as part of the Shield Roman Reigns has commented on Moxley’s departure in a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.
Here’s what Roman had to say:
“I don’t think our working relationship is going to be what it used to be, but I’ll always love that guy, he’ll always be my close friend, and I wish the best for him.
“We have a brotherhood, so I’m always cheering for him.
“I’ve shared so many great moments with Ambrose, or Mox. We have love for each other well beyond the wrestling, and it will always be that way.”
Moxley made his first AEW appearance ambushing Kenny Omega at May 25’s Double or Nothing show, and his first match came this past Saturday at Fyter Fest in an unsanctioned bout against Joey Janela, which he won.
He will take on Omega at August 31’s All Out event in Chicago.
Reigns, on the other hand, has a pretty big match to look forward to himself as he’ll be teaming with a returning Undertaker to take on Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre at July 14’s WWE Extreme Rules.
