PW Insider is reporting Bill Goldberg may be set to return on the “Season Premiere” episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. This past weekend, Goldberg and Dolph Zigger had an exchange in Las Vegas.
According to PW Insider’s sources, the rumor is this was to set up Goldberg’s return to Raw. While Fox may seem like the more sensical destination, NBC Universal and the USA Network don’t want to get left out of the major angles.
It will be interesting to see how WWE manages serving two masters in USA and FOX. Both networks are sure to want WWE to provide storylines, angles, and moments to drive viewers to each network.
However, one superstar who likely won’t be returning for the premiere is Drew McIntyre. The report also states Drew McIntyre is not ready to return at this time.
Mike Johnson is stating it may make more sense for Drew McIntyre’s return to be tied into the upcoming draft. The WWE draft is set to take place in Mid-October on both Raw and Smackdown.
Several other superstars are rumored to be a part of the Raw show next week and the Smackdown Debut on Fox. It looks like WWE is definitely pulling out all the stops as they head into this new era of weekly shows.
