NXT referee Jessika Carr officiated her final match of the black and gold brand last night as Tommaso Ciampa was defeated by Finn Balor.
While Balor made the move from Smackdown to NXT last month, Carr will be swapping Full Sail for the blue brand as she moves up to the main roster.
After last night’s NXT went off the air, Tommaso Ciampa revealed that Carr will be making the ‘lateral move’ over to Friday Night Smackdown.
Ciampa said that NXT was losing of its family members as Jessika was moving to Friday nights. He led the crowd in a ‘Thank You, Jess’ chant.
Carr looked genuinely emotional as Tommaso Ciampa revealed the news. He congratulated her and said she had broken down barriers.
Triple H and the rest of the NXT referees then appeared on the top of the stage to wish Jessika well. This was one of the most genuine feel-good moments in recent NXT memory.
Jessika Carr is set to make history on Friday night as the first full-time female referee on WWE’s main roster. Everyone at WrestleTalk would like to congratulate her on this fantastic achievement.
