WWE has officially announced a new championship match for the May 10 Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
Big E & Kofi Kingston of New Day will defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in a four-way match against John Morrison & The Miz, Lucha House Party, and the Forgotten Sons.
The Sons picked up a victory over New Day this past Friday on SmackDown, while Lucha House Party beat Morrison & Miz a week earlier.
The week before that, Big E defeated Jey Uso and The Miz in a three-way singles match to win the championship after Morrison had retained it in a three-way ladder match on behalf of himself and Miz against Kingston and Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 36.
It was reported yesterday that Jimmy Uso suffered an injury while taping the WrestleMania ladder match, needs surgery, and will be out of action for six-nine months, hence why the Usos are not involved at Money in the Bank.
The event takes place on May 10, with matches emanating from the WWE Performance Center, and the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches having been pre-recorded simultaneously from the bottom floor to the roof of WWE HQ.
